Cooking Classes for Kids

Community Resource Center hosts cooking classes for children ages 10-14 every Wednesday afternoon, and volunteers are needed to help! Volunteers will support staff with ensuring that the children participating in the classes are handling kitchen utensils safely, as well as assist with clean-up. Volunteers must be 15+ to register.
Date: 9/30 from 4-6 p.m.; Wednesdays

Dance With the Dancers Gala

MorDance is seeking volunteers to assist with its annual "Dance With the Dancers" Gala, including setup and cleanup, checking in guests, bartending (for volunteers ages 21+ only), and other general support. Community service hours may be available for school credit, and all volunteers are provided with complimentary dinner. This is a great opportunity to support the arts and meet community members! Volunteers must be 18+ to participate; those ages 16-17 can help if registered as part of an adult volunteer's team.

Living My Best Life Health Fair

The 3rd Annual "Living My Best Life" Health Fair is a vibrant, family-friendly community event designed to engage the mind, body and spirit while connecting residents with valuable health, wellness and community resources. The event will feature children's activities, a Fitness Zone, health screenings, a Spiritual Corner, wellness activities, and more. Volunteers can assist with a variety of activities and sign up for multiple shifts. Community service letters can be provided upon request, and court-ordered community service volunteers are welcome (non-violent offenders only).
Date: 10/3 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and 1-6 p.m.

Community Garden Maintenance

Ward Acres Community Garden is seeking volunteers to help maintain the garden and surrounding areas. Activities may include weeding, mulching, mowing, digging, mending fences, turning compost, and more. All tools will be provided and volunteers should dress for outdoor work, including wearing a hat, sunscreen, closed-toe work shoes, and work gloves.

City of Forest Day - Sandford Sweep Cleanup

Join Hutchinson River Restoration Project for a unique cleanup that gives participants the opportunity to make a direct impact on the health of the Hutchinson River while experiencing the ecosystem up close. Volunteers will help clean the shoreline and remove debris directly from the riverbed. Waders and boots are available to borrow, but supplies are limited. Volunteers may email the coordinator ahead of time to reserve equipment and include their shoe size to ensure proper gear is available.
