April 1: Autism Awareness, Census and the Weekend

We know it's April Fools Day, but we promise these five things you need to know today are true!

1. The National Weather Forecast predicts rain and snow this morning, turning to just rain after 10 a.m. High temperatures will be near 44 degrees. 

2. In honor of Autism Awareness, MacArthur High School is taking part in the "Light it Up Blue” campaign today. The students and staff will be wearing light blue as a way to increase awareness and support the cause. Levittown's ELIJA School, a school for Autistic children, is also looking for volunteers for Autism Awareness events next week. For a list of events, click here.

3. The Levittown School District's Assistant Superintendent of Instruction Debbie Rifkin and Assistant Superintendent of Administration and Personnel Darlene Rhatigan both took a pay freeze for 2011-12. To find out what else happened at this week's Board of Education meeting, click here.
