March 21: Spring Sports Begin, History Buffs Gather at the Library

1. It was a beautiful, sunny weekend, but there is a 90 percent chance Levittown will see some rain today, mainly before 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Today's high temperature is near 51 degrees.

3. Spring sports at the starting line! The MacArthur Lady Generals varsity lacrosse team starts their season today at 4:45 p.m. at Baldwin High School. Come back to Levittown Patch later today for a season preview. Also competing today is MacArthur boys track (at Herricks High School at 4:30 p.m.), Island Trees girls track (at Seaford High School at 4:30 p.m.) and Division boys track (at Sewanhaka High School at 4:30 p.m.).

4. The Levittown Historical Society hosts a free program tonight called "Remembering the Forgotten War- Korea" at 7:30 p.m. at the Levittown Public Library. After their general meeting, a speaker from Tell America will talk about the Korean War and refreshments will be served.

5. It's Monday, and it's time to get back on the road to work and school. The cheapest regular gas in the area today is selling for $3.699 at at the BP Station at 100 Hicksville Road in Bethpage, according to motortrend.com.
