March 25: Sunshine, Track Stars, Talent Show and Junior Prom

1. Goodbye spring snow showers! The National Weather Service says today will be sunny with a high near 41 degrees. The best news: no more snow is expected for the weekend.

2. In spite of being left "homeless" this season due to the sinkhole in the Island Trees High School track, the Bulldogs ran their way to the top this week in their meet against Seaford, North Shore and Clarke. Brandon Beirsdorfer won the 400 meter run, Lucas Pugliese won the 800 meter race and Peter Tucci won the triple jump and the high jump. Joe Duthie, Adam Kirschner, Tommy Brownstone, Tyler Blauvelt, Lucas Pugliese, Ryan Paolino, Nick Alavanja and Brandon Beirsdorfer were also victorious in their relays.

3. Island Trees Memorial Middle School fifth and sixth grade students will perform today at 9 a.m. in a talent show at 45 Wantagh Avenue.

4. Division Avenue High School's juniors will dance the night away at junior prom tonight from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
