Whiz Kid: Jade Berchtold

Every Friday, Levittown Patch will highlight one special kid in our area who has accomplished something great.

This week's Whiz Kid is Jade Berchtold.

Name: Jade Berchtold

Age: 9

School: Michael F. Stokes Elementary School

Achievements: Jade spent last summer selling lemonade to raise money for sick children. The good little samaritan also handed out gifts to BOCES students at her school. She chose these children because she noticed that they are treated differently and she wanted to make them smile. "I was so proud of her at that moment and realized that although good grades are nice, to have a big heart at such a young age is a gift," said her mother, Cheri Conte.

Key to Awesomeness: Jade is described as compassionate, loving, funny and sweet. "She made other children happy and was able to put someone else's need before her own," Conte said of her daughter's good deed. Jade suffers from Attention Deficit Disorder, anxiety and severe food allergies, sometimes making it difficult for her to go to school, but her friendships and smiling face bring joy to everyone around her.
