Whiz Kid: Maggie Milonakis

Every Friday, Levittown Patch will highlight one special kid in our area who has accomplished something great.

This week's Whiz Kid is Maggie Milonakis.

Name: Maggie Milonakis

School: Island Trees High School

Class: Junior

Accomplishments: As starting guard and captain of the Island Trees varsity basketball team, All County player Maggie Milonakis was voted Academic All-State by the coaches association. She has led the Lady Dawgs in scoring for the past two seasons. This past season, Maggie averaged 16 points per game and was No. 3 in Nassau County in three-point baskets. 

Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Maggie, a member of the National Honor Society and a varsity athlete since her freshman year, works hard both on and off the court, earning a 95 average in school. She is also a member of Athletes Helping Athletes and Key Club and has played soccer and volleyball for Island Trees. She hopes to play college basketball and will keep up her efforts all summer as a part of the LI Lightning basketball team, hopefully catching the eye of college coaches as she excels in her AAU tournaments.
