E-Bike Rider Hospitalized After Striking Car In North Amityville: Police
The e-bike struck the driver's side of a Honda Civic passing through a green light, police say.
NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY — An East Massapequa man was seriously injured Friday night when the e-bike he was riding struck a car in North Amityville, Suffolk police said.
A North Amityville man was driving a 2007 Honda Civic north on County Line Road and passing through a green light at West Oak Street at about 8:20 p.m. when an e-bike traveling east on West Oak Street struck the driver’s side of the Honda, police said.
The e-bike operator, Matthew Axmacher, 41, of East Massapequa, was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

The driver was not injured.
The Honda and e-bike were impounded for safety checks, police said.
