Motorcyclist Killed In Lindenhurst Crash; Woman Charged With DWI: Police

A Massapequa man was ejected from his motorcycle after striking two vehicles on Montauk Highway, police said.

LINDENHURST, NY — A woman was charged with driving while intoxicated following an early-morning crash that killed a motorcyclist in Lindenhurst on Wednesday, Suffolk County police said.

Carlos Henao, 33, of Massapequa, was riding a 2019 Harley-Davidson west on Montauk Highway near Chestnut Street at about 1:42 a.m. when he attempted to pass two vehicles traveling in the same direction, police said.

The motorcycle struck the rear of a 2019 Dodge Ram and a 2023 Honda CR-V after both vehicles had moved into the right lane, police said. Henao was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda, Brieonna McGinn, 28, of Massapequa, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, according to police. She was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.

Police did not say that McGinn’s intoxication caused the crash.

All three vehicles were impounded for safety inspections.
