City Of Long Beach Cancels Beachfront Concert Amid Rain
The City of Long Beach has called off Thursday night's concert at the Grand Avenue Beach due to inclement weather.
LONG BEACH, NY — One of the City of Long Beach's last beachfront concerts of the summer was cancelled Thursday, as the city announced rainy weather had put the brakes on a performance by Chris Stapleton tribute band “Simply Stapleton."
The concert was part of the summer-long outdoor concert series put on by the city, with performances taking place on Kennedy Plaza and at multiple beach locations.
While the proverbial curtain will stay down on Thursday night’s performance, there are still a pair of concerts left on the schedule that Long Beach residents will be able to attend: Billy Joel tribute band “Cold Spring Harbor” will be performing at the Lincoln Boulevard Beach Monday, Aug. 31, while Journey-Foreigner tribute band “Foreign Journey” will also perform at the Lincoln Boulevard Beach on Thursday, Sept. 3. Both concerts are free to attend.
