Chinatown Fire Rips Through Mott Street Building: FDNY

CHINATOWN, NY — A three alarm fire ripped through a Chinatown apartment building Wednesday afternoon, FDNY said.

More than 100 firefighters from 25 units are battling a blaze that sparked at 12:43 p.m. on the second floor of the four-story 113 Mott St. building, a FDNY spokesman said. The address is listed as having the Long Xing Grocery on the first floor.

Two civilians suffered serious injuries and are being treated at a local hospital. It was not immediately clear how the fire started.
