Freeport Man Who Had 13-Year-Old Daughter Sell Cocaine On His Behalf Arrested, Police Say

A Freeport man was arrested Monday after having his 13-year-old daughter complete a drug deal on his behalf, police say.

FREEPORT, NY — A Freeport man is facing charges Tuesday after he enlisted his 13-year-old daughter to make a drug deal on his behalf, police say.

Nassau County police said 39-year-old Julio Emmanuel Pena made arrangements to sell cocaine to an individual Monday just before 1 p.m. According to police, those arrangements included having Pena’s daughter make the final transaction.

After an investigation, Pena was arrested at his home in Freeport where more of what police believe to be cocaine was discovered, police said.

In the wake of his arrest, Pena is facing three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, one count of third-degree conspiracy, one count of use of a child to commit a controlled substance offense and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

Pena is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday, police said.
