Dangerous Cold Temps Trigger School Delays, Remote Learning Across The Hudson Valley
Here are the adjusted school schedules as subfreezing temperatures make for a potentially treacherous a.m. commute.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Extremely low temperatures are prompting some school districts to put the safety of staff and students ahead of the a.m. bell.
As of 6:50 a.m., a small number of Hudson Valley schools decided to delay the start of classes, or switch to remote instruction, on Monday. This list will be updated throughout the morning.
- Ellenville CSD: 2-hour delay
- George Grant Mason School (Tuxedo UFSD): remote instruction
- Kingston CSD: 2-hour delay
- Middletown Christian SDA: 2-hour delay
- Middletown CSD: 2-hour delay
- North Park Elementary School (Hyde Park CSD): 2-hour delay due to power outage
- Rockland CSD (Livingston Manor CSD/Roscoe CSD): 2-hour delay
- Rondout Valley CSD: 2-hour delay
