Deadly Route 22 Collision Involved 2 Motorcycles And Another Vehicle, Sheriff Says

The tragedy on a Hudson Valley highway has left one dead, another in critical condition, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.

NORTH EAST, NY — A tragedy on a Hudson Valley highway has left one dead, another in critical condition.

The deadly crash involving a motor vehicle and two motorcycles is under investigation after a collision on State Route 22 in the Town of North East on Monday morning , according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office reported that one of the motorcycle riders died from injuries sustained in the crash. The other motorcycle rider was rushed to Vassar Hospital, where they remain in critical condition. The driver of the other vehicle involved was also transported to Vassar Hospital for medical evaluation.

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said multiple agencies assisted at the scene and during the investigation. Those agencies includedthe Dutchess County Medical Examiner, the New York State Police, the Millerton Fire Company, the Amenia Fire Company, and Empress Ambulance Service.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the events leading up to it to come forward.
