E-Bike Rider Taken To Hospital After Collision With Toyota

No tickets were issued at the scene, but the investigation into the accident remains ongoing, according to the Kingston Police Department.

KINGSTON, NY — An e-bike rider was taken to the hospital after he was hit by a car, according to police.

On Sunday, shortly before 3 p.m., Kingston police were called to Henry and Broadway to a car versus e-bike collision, with injury.

A 51-year-old Kingston woman, who was driving the car, and a 40-year-old Kingston man, who was riding the bike, both remained at the scene, according to cops.

The cyclist told police he was riding towards Broadway on Henry Street, when a Toyota Corolla entered Henry Street from the Mobil Station lot at 625 Broadway. The driver continued into the roadway, failing to yield right of way and was struck by the bike.

No tickets were issued at the scene, but police said the investigation into the accident is still ongoing.

The cyclist was taken to HealthAlliance Hospital, for head, neck and back pain, by members of the Kingston Fire Department.
