Passengers Injured In Bus Rollover On New York State Thruway, 23 Were On Board

Around 17 non-injured passengers were taken to a nearby reunification center, according to New York State Police.

PLATTEKILL, NY — Passengers have been taken to the hospital following a bus rollover crash in Ulster County this morning.

The New York State Police say that they are at the scene of a passenger bus rollover on the southbound New York State Thruway, at mile marker 69.5, between Exit 18 and Exit 17.

Police say around 23 passengers were on board, and no life-threatening injuries were reported.

Around 17 non-injured passengers were taken to a nearby reunification center. The passengers with injuries were taken to local hospitals or were still being evaluated on scene.

While fire departments, EMS, and Thruway Traffic Safety are on the scene, the left southbound and left northbound lanes are blocked.

With one lane open in each direction, there is about a four-mile delay on the southbound side and about a three-mile delay on the northbound side.

Police said heavy tow is on scene for vehicle removal.

NYSP say the response and investigation are continuing, and ask drivers to avoid the area.
