Trooper Stops To Help This Hudson Valley Snapping Turtle Cross The Road
The hare was still leading the race at last report, but the turtle has safely made it to the other side with a hand from a friend.
FISHKILL, NY — It isn't easy moving your whole house every time you want to cross the street — but it helps if you have some friends willing to lend a hand.
NYSP police said troopers made a "different kind of traffic stop" recently. On Thursday Troop K Troopers in East Fishkill came across a snapping turtle crossing the road, and helped make sure this slow-moving traveler reached the other side safely.
"Slow and steady" might win the race, but it doesn't hurt to have friends in high places.
