Truck Driver Cited After Semi Rolls Over At I-87 Rest Area Spewing Garbage: NYSP
Speed appeared to be a contributing factor in the crash on the NYS Thruway, according to the New York State Police.

SAUGERTIES, NY — Shortly before 9 p.m. on June 25, troopers were dispatched to the Malden Service Area of the New York State Thruway (I-87), in Saugerties, for a tractor-trailer rollover.
Investigators say 35-year-old Michelle Paulino Rosario, of Kearny, New Jersey, was driving a 2016 Freightliner when she lost control while entering the service area and overturned, with a load of refuse spilling into the parking lot.
Speed appeared to be a contributing factor in the crash, according to NYSP.

Rosario was extricated from the vehicle by fire and EMS and was taken to Kingston Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash took place completely in the trucking parking lot of the Malden Service Area and no lanes were closed or traffic obstructed in or out of the service area. The vehicle was towed, and the debris was cleared by Thruway personnel.

Rosario was issued citations for vehicle and traffic law violations and is due back in Saugerties Town Court.
