5 Injured In 3-Alarm Midtown Fire, FDNY Says

MIDTOWN EAST, NY — A three-alarm fire broke out on Madison Avenue and East 54th Street Friday morning, injuring five people, according to the FDNY.

According to the FDNY, the fire broke out in a restaurant located at 22 East 54th St. at 6:58 a.m.

Officials said that the restaurant's fire was brought down by 8:43 a.m. Friday, another fire broke out on the building's second floor less than 10 minutes later.

Five people suffered minor injuries, and 192 Firefighters and medics responded to the scene, FDNY officials said.

One of the injured people was taken to a local hospital for treatment, officials said.
