1 Arrested On DWAI Charge After 2-Vehicle Crash That Hurt 2 In Rocky Point: Police
A 20-year-old and a 19-year-old were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment, Suffolk police say.
ROCKY POINT, NY — Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash involving a driver who was arrested for driving while ability-impaired by drugs and alcohol late Monday night in Rocky Point, Suffolk police said.
A 2002 Ford pickup was stopped at the red light in the eastbound lane at the intersection of Route 25A and the bypass when it was struck by an eastbound 2011 Honda SUV at around 10:10 p.m., according to police.
The driver of the Honda, a 20-year-old from Roslyn Heights, and his 19-year-old male passenger, were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the Ford, an 18-year-old Rocky Point man, was not hurt, according to police.
The 20-year-old Roslyn Heights man was charged with DWAI drugs and alcohol.

It was not the only crash on Monday night.
The side of a tractor-trailer grazed the side of Teacher's Federal Credit Union in Centereach at around 5:15 p.m., but no one was hurt.
