Ditch Plains Beach

The 28th Annual Rell Sunn Surf Benefit Contest returns to Ditch Plains in Montauk this year on July 11th. One of Montauk’s longest-running surf traditions, the event brings together the local surf community while raising funds for <a href="https://www.shredthelove.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Shred the Love</a>, this year’s official nonprofit partner supporting local community members and families in need in Montauk.
The event will feature a surf competition open to all ages, an art auction, and locally designed sweatshirts and t-shirts, with all proceeds benefiting the Shred the Love foundation.

The 5th Annual Springs Garden Party returns on Saturday, July 11, for an elegant summer evening benefiting the Springs Food Pantry. Held in the beautiful gardens of hosts Greg McCarthy and Peter Bickford, guests will enjoy cocktails, seasonal hors d’oeuvres, live music, and a lively auction and raffle—all in support of nearly 400 local families served each week by the Pantry. This year’s event will also celebrate the Pantry’s farming partners: Amber Waves, Balsam Farms, Quail Hill Farm, and Share the Harvest Farm.

The fireworks almost faded into history but in 2009, The Clamshell Foundation revived the popular event and has shepherded it every year since.
