For the first time, Temple Emanu-El is opening its landmark Sanctuary to the public to showcase its towering sukkah, a temporary structure built each year for the Jewish harvest festival of Sukkot. Heavily adorned with elaborate florals and autumnal crops, the installation rises beneath the Sanctuary's soaring architecture and is normally seen only by members. Visitors can walk in off Fifth Avenue, take photos, and join a short Sanctuary tour.
