CT Restaurant Serves Up Charity Chicken Wing Fest for First Responders

Summer is filled with hot temperatures, hot fashions and now, hot wings, thanks to Connecticut restaurant The Store Bar & Grill.The patriotic, family-friendly eatery today announced the launch of its charity chicken wing fest in which it will be donate $1 for every dozen of wings until July 4, 2026, to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring America’s heroes by supporting fallen first responders, military service members, and their families.
“Using our popular menu item as an original fundraising program for first responders and our military heroes is a fun, easy and delicious way to recognize those who fight for ourdaily freedoms,” said Dena Franks, co-owner of The Store Bar & Grill. “We come from a long line of servicemen – active, retired and deceased – and are honored to do our part in helping this successful charity thrive.”
Franks explains her decision to host the Charity Wing Fest stems from the recent surge in chicken wings on a global level and how The Store Bar & Grill offers the most eclectic variety of sauce flavors in the state, including Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan, Barbecue, Sweet Chili, Torrington Hot, Mango Habanero, Jamaican Jerk, Spicy Harissa, Lemon Pepper, Marsala, Spicy Mediterranean, Tunisian Buffalo and Garlic Hot.

Founded in honor of firefighter Stephen Siller, who sacrificed his life on the September 11, 2001 attacks, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is a nationally recognized organization committed to supporting first responders, military heroes, and their families through impactful housing and financial assistance programs. Specifically, the nonprofit provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and builds specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. Tunnel to Towers is also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America to Never Forget September 11, 2001.
