Here Are The NYC Repairs From The Mayor's Municipal Madness
A citywide vote on 16 infrastructure fixes ends with illegal dumping cleanup in the Bronx selected as the top priority.

NEW YORK, NY— Mayor Zohran Mamdani marked 100 days in office by joining a cleanup in Soundview after announcing the winner of the city’s first “Mayor’s Municipal Madness,” a bracket-style competition of local infrastructure fixes.
The winning project, cleaning illegal dumping in Soundview, received 18,761 votes and won the final matchup with 67.7 percent of the vote, according to the administration.
More than 21,000 total votes were cast across 16 proposed repairs.

“This is what being a New Yorker is all about: listening to your neighbors, rolling up your sleeves and getting to work,” Mamdani said. “No problem is too small for this administration — not broken water fountains on the Lower East Side, not faded crosswalks in Jamaica and certainly not illegal dumping in Soundview. 100 days in, we’re delivering fixes of all shapes and sizes for the city that deserves nothing but the best.”
Department of Sanitation Commissioner Gregory Anderson, Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura, and Transportation Commissioner Mike Flynn joined Mamdani at a post-event cleanup in Soundview alongside sanitation crews, mascots and local supporters.

“Our team runs the court day and night to remove the 24 million pounds of waste New Yorkers set out every single day,” Anderson said.
The administration said all 16 projects in the competition were completed during Mamdani’s first 100 days.
The runner-up, resurfacing a basketball court in Morrisania, began work and is expected to be finished this weekend.
The city said the cleanup of illegal dumping in Soundview is underway, with crews continuing work following the announcement.
Residents can report illegal dumping with photo or video evidence, including license plate information, to the Department of Sanitation.
