These Are The Top NYC High Schools Teaching Financial Literacy
Multiple NYC schools earn top national honors for personal finance education in 2026 rankings.
NEW YORK, NY — New York City-area high schools earned top national recognition for financial literacy education in 2026 rankings, with multiple schools placing among the country’s best for teaching personal finance skills.
The annual ranking highlights schools participating in W!se’s Financial Literacy Certification program and evaluates performance in preparing students for real-world financial decision-making. Officials said the recognition reflects a growing emphasis on personal finance instruction in secondary education.
The program, now in its 14th year, remains the first national ranking focused exclusively on personal finance education in high schools.

The announcement was made during a ceremony hosted at the United Federation of Teachers headquarters in New York City, supported by Voya Financial.
“The 100 Best recognizes the contributions of the many leaders involved in bringing high quality financial literacy education to our kids,” Braeden Mayrisch, Vice President of Impact and Culture at Voya Financial and Vice President of the Voya Foundation, said.

W!se also presented individual and school-based awards, including the Highest Climber Award, Highest Ranked First-Time School, and Crystal Awards for top-performing small, midsize, and large schools.
Robert Trialonas of Queens Gateway to Health Sciences Secondary School received the Outstanding Educator Award.

- Queens Gateway to Health Sciences — Jamaica, NY
- Benjamin N. Cardozo High School — Bayside, NY
- Thomas A. Edison Career and Technical High School — Jamaica, NY
- Urban Assembly Gateway School for Technology — New York, NY
- Queens Technical High School — Long Island City, NY
- Eleanor Roosevelt High School — New York, NY
