Woman, Child Critically Injured After Boat Overturns Near Liberty Island: Report

NEW YORK — Crews responded after a vessel carrying about a dozen people overturned off Liberty Island shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, police sources told ABC 7.

FDNY Harbor, Scuba and Aviation units responded to the scene, where multiple people were rescued before police arrived.

Sources say NYPD divers entered the water and found two victims, believed to be a woman and a child, according to ABC 7. Both were taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to the report.
