Intruder Stabs Man In Spring Valley Apartment Complex: PD
A child was present at the time, according to police.
SPRING VALLEY, NY — A local man is facing multiple charges after police say he stabbed another man inside a local apartment.
Two officers were on patrol Wednesday around 10:28 p.m. when they were flagged down near an apartment complex on Gesner Drive for a reported stabbing.
Following a brief foot pursuit, police apprehended a suspect, Malik Baptiste, 31, of Spring Valley.

According to police, Baptiste unlawfully entered a residence at 18 Gesner Dr. and stabbed a male guest in the presence of a child. Baptiste also caused damage to several items within the residence, police said.
The male stabbing victim refused to cooperate with law enforcement, according to police.

Baptiste was charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest.
Baptiste was arraigned in the Village of Spring Valley Justice Court. He failed to make bail and was transported to the Rockland County Jail.
