Sweet Beagle, Molly, Whose Owner Was Evicted, 'Didn't Think It Was Fair For Her To Live In Car', Finds Home

NORTH FORK, NY — A sweet senior beagle, who was left alone after her owner was evicted, has found a new forever home, according to the North Fork Animal Welfare League.

"Molly is enjoying her golden years lying on the couch, relaxing," Gabrielle Stroup, director of operations at The League, said.

Molly, The League said, is an 11-year-old senior beagle that was recently surrendered and "was not cut out for shelter life."

Molly is "very sweet and docile and would love the opportunity to be back in a home," The League said, when Molly was first brought to the shelter.

Describing what caused her placement in the shelter, The League said: "Her owner recently got evicted and did not think it was fair for Molly to live in a car."

After a story about Molly's heartbreaking situation was posted on Patch, scores of hopeful, would-be new owners opened their hearts and reached out to help, The League said.

And then, a match was made in furrever heaven and a woman came to The League to bring Molly to her new home.

"We are so happy she found a home, thanks to Patch!" Stroup said.
