Northport Symphony Orchestra Presents a Concert on May 15

The Northport Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Music Director Eric Mahl, will present a concert of classical music on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 7:30 PM at Northport High School. The concert will feature pianist Daria Podorozhnova as soloist in the Piano Concerto No. 2 by Sergei Rachmaninoff.The program will also include Symphony No. 4 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Born in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, Daria Podorozhnova has gained international recognition through numerous competitions. Recent highlights include First Prize at the 2025 Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, CT and First Prize at the 2025 Ann & Charles Eisemann Young Artist Competition in Dallas.She has performed widely across Russia and internationally, both as a recitalist and soloist.Daria began piano studies at age six at the Special Music School affiliated with the Rostov State Conservatory and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at Manhattan School of Music in New York. Her performance this evening is courtesy of her First Prize-winning performance in the biennial Young Artist Competition held by the Tuesday Morning Music Club of Douglaston, a local institution which was founded in 1921 and has presented chamber music concerts continuously since then.
