NYACK, NY — A Hudson Valley hospital has been named among the very best in providing a growing healthcare need.
Montefiore Nyack Hospital Home Care in Nyack has been named a 2026 Best Home Health agency by U.S. News & World Report, according to an announcement released April 30. The recognition comes in U.S. News' first evaluation of home health providers across the United States.

U.S. News evaluated more than 12,000 agencies in the first edition of Best Home Health, according to the announcement. It said 17 percent of the agencies it rated received the Best Home Health designation.
With more than three million patients turning to home health agencies each year, the new ratings are intended to offer an independent look at provider quality, according to the announcement. The rankings focus on patient outcomes and consumer experience for a predominantly senior population and are meant to help families, in consultation with physicians, make care decisions.

The methodology developed by U.S. News uses two data sets from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, according to the announcement. It said data on care quality measures, including timely initiation of care and outcomes such as potentially preventable hospitalizations, were combined with patient experience surveys to produce the ratings.
"To be included among the first class of home health providers to receive this honor is amazing," said Colleen Nunes, home care administrator at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. "This recognition is a testament to the professionalism, expertise, and patient centered care mindset that our entire team upholds every day."
The ratings and underlying data for each agency have been published on the U.S. News website.
"Earning the Best Home Health distinction is a significant achievement, as it is reserved only for those agencies that satisfy U.S. News' standards of care quality and patient experience," said Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News.
