Village Of Croton-On-Hudson Gives Update On Con Edison Infrastructure Projects

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson would like to provide an update on the various infrastructure projects being undertaken by Con Edison in the Village: Gas Main Replacement on Batten Road: the infrastructure work has been completed. The Village is awaiting a pavement restoration schedule from Con Edison’s contractor.

Information on the repaving schedule will be communicated once it is finalized. Gas Main Replacement on Old Post Road North: excavation work along Old Post Road North has been completed. Con Edison’s contractor presently expects to have all gas service lines connected to the new main and temporary restoration of the pavement (removal of steel plates) by August 31. Once this work is completed, the project will shift to Brook Street, between Old Post Road North and Terrace Place, where the project is expected to be less impactful as the gas main is located under the sidewalk area.

This portion of the project is expected to be completed by the end of September on the current schedule. Full pavement restoration is scheduled for the fall. Pole Replacement on Old Post Road South: pole replacement work, as part of Con Edison’s storm hardening project, continues along Old Post Road South. New wire and cable will also be strung to create two loops in the overhead system to reduce the number of customers impacted by a local outage.

This project is expected to be completed by August 31. Underground Electric Replacement on Amber Drive & Oriole Lane: Underground trenching work is almost complete at this time. Con Edison will be pulling new cables and setting new transformers in the area once the trench work is finished. This project is expected to be completed by the end of September on the current schedule, with pavement restoration expected in the fall.
