Application Period Open For Scholarship In Name Of Patchogue U.S. Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy
It awards $2,500 to a future high school senior, current college, or trade school attendee, memorial scholarship foundation says.
SAYVILLE, NY — The Lt. Michael Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation is resuming the LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum’s Murph the Protector Member Scholarship.
It awards $2,500 to a future high school senior, current college, or trade school attendee.
To qualify for consideration, applicants must have a family member, who is a registered member of the LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum.

Eligible family relationships include a parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt, brother, sister, or other relation.
Additional consideration will be given to future or current students of Penn State University.

Previous recipients are also eligible to apply.
Murphy, a Navy SEAL, was killed trying to protect his team in Afghanistan in 2005.
The application deadline is April 27.
