Braiding Sweetgrass: A Meditation on Gratitude, Balance, and Reciprocity

Braiding Sweetgrass: A Meditation on Gratitude, Balance, and Reciprocity

Event Details

Hendrick Hudson Free Library, 185 Kings Ferry Rd, Montrose, NY, 10548

Inspired by Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, this workshop led by Ann Elizabeth Byrne from Hudson Valley Meditation & Reiki explores themes of gratitude, balance, and the idea of reciprocity--how what we give and receive shapes our inner and outer lives.

You will be introduced to these concepts in a practical, relatable way, followed by a guided meditation focused on awareness and appreciation.  Reiki energy is offered during the meditation to support grounding and emotional balance, followed by singing bowls to help integrate the experience.  Ann will finish with a short reflective moment to help you consider how these ideas can be carried into everyday life.

You do not need to have read the book to attend.  Visit the library's Web site to register.  Limited seating.
