Through a live cello performance and historical insight, Alex Prizgintas explores the powerful role of music in American democracy. Featuring hymns of faith, anthems of patriotism, and songs of protest, and resistance. this program highlights how music has expressed belief, dissent, and unity from the nation’s founding to today.
Free and open to all. Presented live / in-person in Room C on the Library’s 3rd Floor.
Alex Prizgintas is both a classically trained cellist and historian. He graduated summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree in regional history and a graduate degree in public administration from Marist College in addition to serving as president of the Woodbury Historical Society and town historian of Woodbury in Orange County, NY.

Learn essential oil painting techniques; get to know the myriad of oil painting tools and mediums; find out some tricks of the trade! Paintings will be stored at the center in between classes, and students will go home with a finished work. This is a great introduction class if you've never used oil paints before. It is also perfect for those with some experience who want to practice their skills.
