Plainview-Old Bethpage School Budget Results Are In: Incumbents Re-Elected
The district has announced the results of its budget and board of education election.

PLAINVIEW, NY — The Plainview-Old Bethpage School District's 2026-2027 budget passed on Tuesday.
The budget of $205,796,480 was approved with 1619 "yes" votes to 602 "no" votes.
This was an increase of 4.25 percent from the current 2025-2026 $197,404,327.

Incumbent Debbie Bernstein and incumbent Ginger Lieberman were both re-elected to the Board of Trustees. Bernstein received 1648 votes, and Lieberman received 1460 votes.
The budget carries a tax levy increase of 3.45 percent, which is below the District's allowable cap of 4.01 percent.

Proposition II passed at 1768-453 votes.
Proposition II on the ballot calls for the expenditure of $6 million from the District's capital repair reserve fund established by voters in 2022, the school district said.
