Long Island Coach Assaulted Child Outside MetLife Stadium: Report
He struck the child near the stadium entrance as he was leaving the property, turned himself in to police on Monday, NJ State police say.
LONG ISLAND, NY — A Long Island man who coaches a youth team assaulted a child outside of MetLife Stadium last Friday, News 12 reported.
New Jersey State Police said that troopers responded to a report of an assault that occurred near Moody’s Gate within MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford Borough, Bergen County on Aug. 28.
Through various investigative means, troopers determined that Sherif Saad, a 34-year-old from Coram, had assaulted a juvenile before leaving the property, police said.

On Monday, Saad voluntarily surrendered to Troop B Meadowlands Station and charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree cruelty and neglect of a child, and simple assault in the presence of a child, simple assault, and disorderly persons, according to police.
Saad was lodged in the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing, police said.

The case remains under investigation, and no additional information is available, according to police.
Saaad coaches in Longwood Youth Football, according to News 12.
In a statement to News 12, Longwood Youth Football's commissioner said the investigation is ongoing.
