1 Person Critically Injured After Tractor-Trailer Crash On LIE, Police Say

3 people were hospitalized following a North Hills crash on Friday, NCPD says.

NORTH HILLS, NY — One person is in critical condition after a crash on Friday night in North Hills, police said.

Nassau County police said a 53-year-old man was driving a 2011 Mack Tractor Trailer westbound on the Long Island Expressway near exit 34 when he rear-ended a 2023 Honda Civic driven by a 32-year-old man.

According to police, all three occupants in the Honda were transported by NCPD ambulances to local hospitals. The driver and a 33-year-old passenger were treated for minor injuries, while a 31-year-old passenger is in critical condition.

The tractor-trailer driver did not report any injuries, police said. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
