Added Stop On Port Washington LIRR Branch, Subways For US Open: MTA
The MTA and USTA announce enhanced service on trains and subways to accommodate more than 1 million tennis fans in the next few weeks.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — There will be an added stop on multiple Port Washington Long Island Rail Road trains starting Sunday, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and United States Tennis Association announced.
This additional stop will be on many of the Port Washington line trains at the Mets-Willets Point LIRR Station, the MTA and USTA stated on Thursday.
More than one million people are expected to attend the US Open, which will be located at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens starting on Sunday, the MTA said.

Arthur Ashe Kids' Day will be Aug. 23 through Aug. 29. The US Open Main Draw will be Aug. 30 through Sept. 13.
The tournament runs from August 23 to September 13. Fan Week and qualifying take place starting August 23, and the main draw will be from August 30 through September 30, the US Open website states.

"Tennis fans can rely on the Long Island Rail Road to get to USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center quickly, reliably and safely," Long Island Rail Road President Rob Free said.
There will also be enhanced service and additional daily trains on the 7 subway line, the MTA said. More information can be found on the MTA's website.
