Juvenile Facing Attempted Murder Charges After Accused Of Causing Multiple Crashes: Port Washington Police
NCPD says the juvenile was placed into custody in Port Washington on Wednesday afternoon.
MANHASSET, NY — A juvenile was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in Manhasset on charges related to an attempted murder, police said.
News 12 reported that the minor in custody is linked to causing multiple vehicle crashes during a pursuit from Port Washington to the Americana Manhasset Mall.
According to News 12, a Port Washington police officer conducted a traffic stop near Main Street in Port Washington around 12:30 p.m., when the driver fled and caused several crashes. Nearby Port Washington schools were put on a secured lockout out of an abundance of caution, News 12 reported.

Port Washington Police Officers investigated on North Bayles Avenue, Nassau County police said. The juvenile fled the scene and was eventually placed into custody at approximately 12:38 p.m. in the parking lot of the Americana Mall on Northern Boulevard, NCPD said.
The juvenile was charged with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree grand larceny, second-degree reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest, police said. The juvenile will be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead, NCPD said.
