Unlicensed Driver Arrested After Fatal Brooklyn Crash Killed Man On Sidewalk

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

BROOKLYN, NY — Police have arrested an unlicensed driver who cause a fatal crash that killed a 67-year-old man on a Brooklyn sidewalk this past July.

Brandon Hightower, 32, was arrested and charged Thursday with reckless driving and unlicensed operation of a vehicle, police said.

Hightower is accused of driving a Toyota Highlander on July 18 and crashing his vehicle into a Hyundai Palisade at St. Marks and Franklin avenues which caused a chain reaction crash.

The Hyundai went onto the sidewalk and struck Heriberto Morales and hitting another parked car.

Morales was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
