Queens: The Art of Drag & NYC- Opening Reception: Thursday, June 4, 6pm
Complimentary beverages and light bites will be provided alongside live music by Dan Kiernan (The Voice Season 27) and pop-up performances by ShakunDaviDance, Lena Horné, and more. DD Feugo (RuPaul's Drag Race, Season 18) will have work on display and will co-host Culture Lab's La La Parooza after party the same night!
Queens: The Art of Drag & NYC celebrates drag as one of the most dynamic, political, and imaginative art forms of our time. Through photography, portraiture, costume, video, installation, and performance ephemera, this exhibition spotlights the craft, discipline, and creative labor behind transformation.
Based in a lineage that is deeply intertwined with New York City’s cultural history, the exhibition honors drag’s evolution across decades of queer nightlife, ballroom houses, underground clubs, and activist movements.
Featuring artists and performers whose work pushes the boundaries of gender expression, beauty, and identity, Queens: The Art of Drag & NYC invites audiences to consider drag not only as entertainment but as a deeply intentional practice of storytelling, self-making, and community-building.
