Tornado Confirmed To Have Hit Queens During Severe Storm: What To Know

The tornadoes seem to have touched down between 6:30 and 7 p.m.

QUEENS, NY — Two tornadoes hit Queens and Long Island Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Both storms began as waterspouts before moving ashore and becoming tornadoes. The first came onto land in the Eastern Rockaways in Queens, while the second reached land in Atlantic Beach.

The tornadoes seemed to have touched down between 6:30 and 7 p.m.
