Sayville Athletic Director Earns Prestigious National Certification

Dr. Ryan Cox Recognized as a Certified Master Athletic Administrator

Dr. Ryan Cox, Director of Health, Physical Education, Athletics and Recreation of Sayville Public Schools, was recognized by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) as a Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA).

“I am honored to receive this distinction from the NIAAA,” said Dr. Cox. “This achievement reflects the support of the Sayville community, our dedicated coaches, staff, student-athletes and families. It is a privilege to serve a district that places such a high value on educational athletics and the positive impact they have on students’ lives.”

The Certified Master Athletic Administrator designation is one of the highest levels of professional achievement available in the field of interscholastic athletic administration. Dr. Cox joins an elite group of athletic administrators worldwide who have attained this distinction through a rigorous certification process that recognizes exceptional leadership, professional contributions, experience, and ongoing professional development.

To earn the designation, candidates must successfully complete an extensive evaluation of their educational background, professional experience, leadership training, and contributions to the profession. The process culminates in a comprehensive practical project and presentation demonstrating advanced knowledge and expertise in athletic administration.

Since joining the district, Dr. Cox enhanced athletic opportunities for students while fostering a culture of integrity, inclusion, and achievement throughout Sayville’s athletic programs. His leadership supported the continued success of student-athletes—both on and off the field.
