Dr. James Foy Brings Joy, Inclusivity to Sayville School

The Sayville School District is proud to announce that Sunrise Drive Elementary School Principal Dr. James Foy was named the Long Island School Library Association (LISLA) Administrator of the Year. The prestigious award recognizes a school administrator in Nassau or Suffolk county who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in sustaining and enhancing a school library program over the past two to four years.
Dr. Foy was nominated by Sunrise Drive Elementary School librarian Kelsey Laport, who highlighted his unwavering support for the school’s library program and its role within the school community.
“In a time when school libraries are often forced to justify their existence, Dr. Foy treats our library program as the heart of the school,” Ms. Laport said. “Because of him, the Sunrise Drive Library is a joyful, inclusive and sustainable space for every student. Time and again, he has demonstrated why he should be the LISLA Administrator of the Year.”
