Senator Gillibrand sponsoring $1.5 million grant for E Hartsdale sewer work

Great news from the Senator--will help keep taxes down!

I am pleased to report that the Town received good news from US Senator Gillibrand that she is sponsoring a $1,500,000 grant for Phase 2 (Phase 1 is the larger 100 East Hartsdale Avenue project) of the East Hartsdale Avenue Sanitary Sewer project.

Project Description:

The project will benefit approximately 10,000 Town residents by upgrading approximately 700 linear feet of sanitary sewer pipe starting at Central Park Avenue and continuing down parallel to East Hartsdale Avenue. The specific work performed in this phase of the project will be determined based on an investigation of the pipe performed in the first phase of the project, anticipated to take place later this year. The work will include a combination of lining and replacement of piping and manholes. The manholes will also be raised and/or fitted with watertight manholes to avoid stormwater infiltration. The intended outcomes of the project are establishing the watertightness of the main and increasing its resiliency.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY ON E HARTSDALE AVE-

This work is being conducted by the private property owner of 120 East Hartsdale Avenue. They are installing improvements to the building’s drainage. They have told us that the work will take up to four months to complete. We have advised them that they cannot close portions of E Hartsdale Ave during rush hour. After receiving this email we went to check on the work. No work was being performed this late in the day, but the sidewalk was clear.
