4 Taken To Area Hospitals In 2 Separate Crashes Within Hour In Brookhaven Town: Police

BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Four people were taken to area hospitals in two separate crashes over around an hour in Brookhaven Town on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

In the first crash, two vehicles collided at the intersection of William Floyd Parkway and Roberts Road East in Shirley at around 11:40 a.m., according to police.

A 2006 Honda was traveling northbound on William Floyd Parkway, when a 2018 Chevrolet made a left turn from the parkway south to Roberts Road East, and the vehicles collided, police said.

Both drivers were taken to NYU Langone Hospital — Suffolk in East Patchogue with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The second crash took place in Port Jefferson at around 1 p.m., when a 2014 Audi was traveling westbound on Route 25A, and a 2016 Hyundai exited a shopping center parking lot, and the vehicles collided, police said.

Both drivers were taken to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
