Man, 82, Seriously Hurt In Fire In Smithtown: Police
The cause of the fire is believed to be non-criminal, Suffolk police say.
SMITHTOWN, NY — Suffolk County Police Arson Squad detectives are investigating a home fire that seriously hurt a man in Smithtown on Saturday, Suffolk police said.
Officers from the 4th Precinct responded to a house fire on Oakside Drive just before 6 p.m., and upon arrival, an 82-year-old man was outside, according to police.
He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, and was treated for burns and smoke inhalation, police said.
