Smithtown East Celebrates 1st Homecoming Game Under The Lights

SMITHTOWN, NY — Smithtown High School East celebrated homecoming Sept. 25 with an evening of school spirit, community and the school’s first Friday night homecoming game played under the lights at Schroeder Field.

Festivities began before kickoff with a pregame carnival inside the high school gymnasium. Hosted by High School East’s co-curricular clubs, the carnival featured games, activities and stations organized and run by students.Community members were invited to take part in the activities, listen to live music and gather ahead of the homecoming game.

As kickoff approached, the celebration moved outside to Schroeder Field, where the Smithtown East Bulls faced the Huntington Blue Devils. Students, families, alumni and other community members filled the stands under the Friday night lights.

The celebration continued at halftime with a performance by the Whisperettes kickline team and the crowning of the 2026 homecoming royalty.

Isabella Weidtman was crowned homecoming queen, while Anthony Gazzano was named homecoming king.

Huntington defeated Smithtown East 40-7, but the evening brought the school community together for a night of homecoming festivities and school spirit.
