Serious, Head-On Crash On Noyac Road Leaves 3 Injured, Causes 'Destruction' Of Both Vehicles: Police

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Three people were injured and two vehicles were destroyed in a massive head-on crash on Noyac Road Wednesday morning, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the two-vehicle crash took place at 6:50 a.m. on Noyac Road, near Lohan Court.

Southampton Town police patrol officers and detectives responded to investigate the scene; the Southampton Volunteer Ambulance also responded along with the North Sea Fire Department, to treat the injured, police said.

An investigation revealed that a gray, 2024 Ford F150-XLT pick-up truck was heading westbound on Noyac Road, near the cross street of Lohan Court, and a white 2018 Ford van was heading eastbound on Noyac Road, near the same cross street, when the vehicles collided head-on, police said.

The Ford pick-up truck was occupied by a single male occupant who sustained non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The white van had two male occupants, the driver and a passenger, police said.

The collision caused the driver of the white van to be entrapped, requiring the North Sea Fire Department to respond to extricate him, police said.

Both occupants sustained injuries, police said.

The passenger was transported to a local area hospital by Southampton Volunteer Ambulance, with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The driver was removed from the scene by the Suffolk County Police Department aviation and transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, as his injuries were more severe, police said.

Noyac Road was closed from Water Mill Towd Road to Roses Grove Road in both directions from the time of the crash at 6:50 a.m., until the vehicles were removed by local area tows at around 10:15 a.m., police said.

During that time, officers completed their preliminary investigation and, "due to the magnitude of the collision, and the destruction of both vehicles," it took an extended period of time for the tows to safely remove the vehicles, police said.

The vehicles were impounded for safety inspections, police said.
