Water Mill Woman Who Crashed Vehicle With Child Inside Charged With DWI: Police
She crashed into a pole with a child in her vehicle, and was charged with felony DWI, police say.
WATER MILL, NY — A Water Mill woman was arrested Tuesday after she crashed her car while intoxicated with a child less than 16 in her vehicle, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, at about 9:28 p.m., a call came in regarding a one-car crash into a pole at Flying Point Road and Seven Ponds Road in Water Mill, authorities said.
During further investigation, it was determined that Shannon Priest, 36, was intoxicated by alcohol, police said.

Priest was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated under Leandra’s law, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, police said.
The child was turned over to a family member, police said.

Priest was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
