Woman Caught With Stun Gun In Water Mill: Police

She was also driving with a suspended license, police say.

WATER MILL, NY — A Queens woman was arrested after being caught with a stun gun in Water Mill Monday night, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, at 11:05 p.m., in the vicinity of Montauk Highway and Rose Hill Road, a patrol officer observed the driver of a black BMW sedan traveling eastbound on Montauk Highway, in violation of several New York State vehicle and traffic laws.

The ensuing traffic stop investigation revealed that the vehicle’s registration sticker affixed to the license plate was forged, the driver was in possession of an electronic stun gun device, and that she was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, police said.

Erica K. Paul, 28, of Jamaica, New York was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a misdemeanor; fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor; and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, police said.

She was also issued summonses for numerous traffic infractions, police said.

Paul was transported to Southampton Town police headquarters, where she was processed and subsequently released on an appearance ticket for a future arraignment date, police said.
